Caladesi Island State Park, named America’s Top Beach for 2008 by coastal expert Dr. Stephen Leatherman, a.k.a. Dr. Beach, is only 45 minutes away. A visit to Caladesi Island will deliver the type of pristine beach you picture when dreaming up a perfect, peaceful beach getaway. Only accessible by boat and with no paved roads or vehicles, Caladesi Island offers a true island beach experience that includes cabana rentals, a marina and an onsite café.
